The kind of oppressive attitudes and behaviours are backed up by the institutional arrangements. This helps to clarify the confusion around what some claim to be “reverse racism”.

Material poverty gets worse if it is dominated by what is called intellectual poverty. When intellectual poverty is allowed to proliferate throughout society from bottom to top and throughout leadership and governance from top to bottom, there is inadequate intellectual capital and power to address the complex issues generated by an impoverished environment, populace, leadership and governance of a country. Everything to do with development, transformation and progress becomes a gigantic lie. Taxes are wasted. Investment in anything does not yield benefits to the taxpayers. Those who are supposed to use the taxes to develop social services and infrastructure target them for personal aggrandisement and/or enrichment.

Perennial military slogans, songs and celebrations yearn in year out and perennial lie that we experienced liberation are also perennially concealing the truism that we are under conquest, occupation, domination and rule by people who came from elsewhere and captured our instruments of power.

In Uganda, the single most threat to the belonging of species, including Man, Homo sapiens, is Man – particularly the political, entrepreneurial, corporate and nomadic-pastoral Man. Most of the blame goes to our education system, which continues to produce selfish and individualistic graduates, who in the total society manifest as the greedy, the selfish and the individualistic. When they should be building communities, society and country as “wholes” they build themselves, their families, kith and kin and ethnic groups.

President Tibuhaburwa Museveni is highly gifted in the art and science of deception. Although this is a requirement if one wants to be a successful politician, the president excels in its deliberate use to subdue detection that he deliberately uses untruth to rule. Nobody or institution has not tasted his deceptions or untruths.

In my book Political and Leadership History of Uganda: From British Colonial Era to Movement Era, which has been in the press since July 2023, I unequivocally state that the political trajectory of Uganda will be determined, not by the genuine citizens of Uganda but by three men: Lawyer Nobert Mao (no relation the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba (from last week the Chief of Defense Forces, CDF) and Tibuhaburwa Museveni (still the president of Uganda, 38 years since capturing the instruments of power through the barrel of the gun on January 25, 1986). The three, I wrote, will strategise together to de-enfranchise Ugandans, transfer the power of selecting a president of Uganda to parliament and ensure that the current president, retains power, not through the popular vote but through the members of parliament who to date profess NRM.

In Uganda the political leaders are pursuing development assisted by countries that prefer grass (oil palm and sugarcane) to natural forests. The 10,000 hectares of natural forests of Kalangala Island of Lake Victoria have been felled and sold as timber.

What is clear is that there is political reincarnation of Ignatius Musaazi in Bobi Wine with the Baganda from Masaka organising to remove the latter from the epitome of power in NUP. The cause is, probably unsurprisingly, misuse of public money at parliament of Uganda by a former vice-president of NUP, Mathias Nsamba Mpuga, together with other top leaders at the Commission of Parliament. It is as if the Masaka politicians in NUP endorse misuse of public money.
