Angry Man United supporters protest against controversial stingy club owners: Woodward brothers

Manchester United’s game against Brighton on Sunday marks the beginning of a new era at Old Trafford under new boss Erik ten Hag. But it seems nothing has changed when it comes to Man United supporters’ feelings towards the Red Devils hierarchy, as fans staged a protest prior to the Premier League clash.

Last season under former-interim boss Ralf Rangnick, United were subject to a 4-0 thrashing by the Seagulls, summing up a below par season for the club. But before Red Devils fans took to the stands with hopes Ten Hag can deliver a much better scoreline this time around, supporter group The 1958 organised a protest against the club’s controversial owners – the Glazers.

Fans had staged a demonstration against the club’s hierarchy in their final fixture against Norwich City last season.

And despite promises from the club that this summer would see real change at Old Trafford, The 1958 feel that more action is needed, given the decline since the Sir Alex Ferguson years and the lack of transfer activity this summer.

Starting three hours before kick-off with flares and the familiar ‘Glazers Out’ banners in tow, fans gathered in their numbers in Media City and made their way to the Theatre of Dreams to express their views on their perceived mismanagement of their club.

In response, Man United opted to close their stadium shop amid concerns over the anti-Glazer protestors.
