A Kenya Police Reservist was on Sunday shot dead by suspected bandits believed to be from Tiaty, Baringo County while another was left seriously injured in Pura area in Samburu County.

Following the ambush by the suspected cattle rustlers, area residents rushed the injured one to hospital in Maralal for treatment.

Speaking in Loosuk, Assistant County Commissioner Peter Mutiso said the security personnel have been dispatched to the area to pursue the bandits who fled towards Malabo valley.

While noting that the deceased NPR was a very hand working person, he urged the area residents to remain calm as the security machinery worked to bring his killers to book. 

He further thanked the people of Pura who work closely with the security team over security matters.
