In 1990, he was among the early group of MYSA boys who travelled to Norway for the Norway Cup, an experience that exposed the young boy from Nairobi to international football and strengthened his self-belief that the game could take him far. He later played for Undugu FC before earning a breakthrough with Re-Union FC in early 1990s.
