World football transfers hit record high with 86,158 international players switching clubs
A record-breaking 86,158 international player transfers were completed in 2025 in both men’s and women’s professional, as well as amateur football, FIFA announced. Clubs’ spending on transfer fees also broke the record with $13.11 billion, over 50 per cent above those of 2024.
