Land fraud suspects charged with plot to defraud former powerful Kenyan minister Mbiyu Koinange family of land worth $4 million
The suspects are further accused of illegally possessing the land in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace. The alleged offences occurred on various dates between November 26, 2021 and December 24, 2025.

Addressing the press, Governor Lenku condemned the violence saying leaders must be allowed access to guide the community and ensure justice. He insisted that the Kibiko land belongs to the people through the Keekonyokie Trust and emphasised that no outsiders would be allowed to displace the rightful owners.
