Kakamega in western Kenya classified as Ebola high-risk as the county starts preparations for testing, quarantine

KEHPHPU National Secretary-General and Chief Executive Officer Brown Ashira said adequate staffing of public health officers, was necessary to strengthen preparedness efforts in Kakamega, Busia and Bungoma counties. He noted that the counties have been identified among areas requiring enhanced monitoring.

Ebola control stepped up as confirmed cases in eastern Congo hit 363, Uganda reports four recoveries

Uganda’s Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Diana Atwine said the country had so far confirmed 15 Ebola cases, including 11 imported cases and four infections among health workers who treated the first patient. “Out of those, we have also discharged four.”
