Nairobi: Africa and France push for mutually rewarding collaboration at Africa Forward Summit
The summit, co-chaired by Kenya President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron, brought together heads of state and government from some 30 countries on the continent and France in what organisers described as an implementation-focused forum to deliver concrete investment opportunities, policy reforms and actionable partnerships.

President William Ruto of Kenya, which is co-hosting the summit with France, referred to sovereignty eight times in his speech on the summit’s final day. He reiterated that the days of European dependency were over for Africa in favour of mutual respect between cooperating nations.
