Manchester United fans have blocked the ticket office at Old Trafford on Saturday in protest against the Glazers. Fresh protests kickstarted this weekend ahead of the match against Brentford at home.

United supporters’ group, The 1958, called on fans to voice their displeasure outside the ticket office for an hour before kick-off.

Large sections of the club’s support are furious with the owners after a lack of success on the pitch and a slow sale process. While it had been initially suggested the Glazers were ready to sell up completely, they are now only looking to sell off a minority stake to retain control.

The 1958 confirmed plans to protest outside the Old Trafford ticket office on Friday evening.

“You’ve seen the lies released by the club and their mouthpieces. Marginalising and exploiting our match going fanbase. This is our club. We will fight for the right to support it. Dignity and integrity needs to be restored.”

They have expressed their fury against the Glazers over what has been perceived as a lack of communication over the takeover process. It was announced that plans were afoot to sell up last November, nearly a full year ago, but there has been little progress since. Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently restructured his bid to involve only purchasing a minority stake in a bid to hasten talks.

The only other party in the race that has made their interest public is Qatari billionaire Sheikh Jassim. United have had a horror campaign so far this season and have won three games in the Premier League prior to kick-off against Brentford.

Following the defeat to Galatasaray on Wednesday night in the Champions League, this is United’s worst start to a season in 39 years. The loss also saw hundreds of away fans make their way around Old Trafford, causing further fury across the Red Devils fanbase.
