Vihiga County Governor Wilber Otichillo has underscored the importance of professionalism and strict adherence to established laws in the management of both government and non-governmental institutions.

Speaking during the handover ceremony of the ad hoc committee on the proposed upgrade of Luanda and Kaimosi to municipalities, Dr Otichillo stressed that professionalism remains the cornerstone of institutional success and sustainable development.

“As we strive to develop our county, it is imperative that all organisations, whether public or private, prioritize professionalism in their operations,” the governor said.

He added that adherence to the law is not just a statutory requirement but a vital pillar for service delivery, accountability and operational efficiency.

Otichillo cited examples of organisations that have thrived through the dedication of skilled personnel, noting that empowering and respecting professionals would accelerate the county’s growth.

“Let us respect the diverse skill-sets within our county. We have talented professionals ready to contribute to our development agenda but they must be given the right platforms to excel,” he urged.

The governor’s remarks set a strong tone for the future, emphasising that professionalism and respect for expertise will be central in steering Vihiga County toward sustainable social and economic progress.
