Globally, LNG-powered vessels are increasingly being adopted in response to tougher International Maritime Organisation environmental regulations. LNG use drastically reduces sulphur oxides and particulate matter, lowers nitrogen oxides and also cuts carbon dioxide emissions compared to heavy fuel oil.
