Kenyan minister admits housing programme faces $2.6 billion funding shortfall per annum
Housing Secretary Said Athman said the government was on course to implement the project with over 3,000 units already handed over. From January next year, Athman said, more units shall be handed over on a monthly basis adding that all the contractors have been instructed to roll out night shifts to fast track the project.

Speaking during the signing event held during the United Nations Habitat Assembly in UN Complex in Gigiri, Nairobi Executive Director of UN-Habitat Anacláudia Rossbach said that these initiatives build on the call by 193 countries requesting UN-Habitat to advance efforts on adequate housing.
