Nairobi skyline on Wednesday night witnessed the first-ever public drone light show powered by the Jay Pyrotechnics Company.

Some 300 hundred dazzling drones lit up the skies, displaying to residents and visitors a new experience, a combination of modernity, realistic art show and light show with laser mapping technology.

Jay Pyrotechnics Chief Executive Officer Jayshree Suchak said the drone light-show coincided with the inauguration of the newly completed green-certified Purple Dot Tower, a 14-storey building located on Mombasa Road. The hundreds of drones fitted with lights created different moving formations in the sky.

The drones programmed to fly in 3D space to make identifiable visual forms and create a stunning visual spectacle for events featured a ground-breaking combination of cutting-edge drone light technology and symphonic music, creating a mesmerizing artistic spectacle at the unveiling of the Purple Dot Tower.

“We successfully executed a ground-breaking 300 drone light show for the official launch of Purple Dot Tower in Nairobi,” said the CEO.

Suchak observed that the drone show is the first ever of its kind in Nairobi, marking a significant milestone in the city’s entertainment and even production landscape.

She further noted that the drone light show was a high impact artistic infusion of innovation and tradition in a digital age, terming it breath-taking as city dwellers witnessed a show featured with drones that was synchronised with music, lasers and fireworks.

“Industry stakeholders contend that drone lights are the perfect substitutes for fireworks display as they are noiseless and less pollutant,” stated Suchak and added “Drone light shows are becoming increasingly popular for events, festivals and celebrations.

The CEO observed that drones are a friendlier and more interactive display without pollution, a spectacle that illuminates the skyline and the hearts of the people.

She said the drone light shows, and aerial performances are redefining the future of entertainment on a large scale in Kenya and across Africa. The ground-breaking event was spearheaded by Jay Pyrotechnics, a leading brand in fireworks and visual experiences across the African continent.

A drone light show involved multiple aerial vehicles equipped with LED lights flying in synchronised formations to create patterns and images in the sky.
